Dress shopping with teenagers!!

Well, I get the privilege of taken my daughter & her best friends to the mall!! How do I get suckered into these things?? LOL I'm just kidding. I love spending time with ALL of them. They are looking for their 8th Grade Dance dresses. They want to get the same dress. Who knew my daughter would be in a click?? Reminds me so much of myself!! I have been taking her to the mall for about a month now looking for this dress. Maybe her friends can help.

We found this dress last weekend. I will try to take more pics. of this fun adventure this weekend.

First time for everything!! Went camping!!

I had a blast this past weekend!! Even in the rain! My husband & I went camping with our bestfriends. We packed everything up & headed to Lake Summervile. It was absolutely breath taking! (of what we could see!)
Friday it rained for the first part of the day, but then it cleared up about 4:30pm so Anthony (my husband) & Joe got the fire box & the grill going. While we waited for the grill to get hot we played washers. We had T-bones, grilled veggies & some awesome green beans that I was eating like it was popcorn (it was so GOOD!!) Then we played Farkel (spelling) (it's a dice game) & Phase 10 (card game).
We woke up pretty early to rain. So we couldn't fix breakfast like the guys wanted to, so we just went to a little Cafe' (The Windmill) It was GREAT!! Then we drove around looking at the sights & then we got the PHONE CALL! It was pouring down in Houston. Our friends house was getting flooded! They had left their teenagers home (16 & 13) alone. Megan poor thing she's 16 & she was hysterical she didn't know what to do. But, then everything just kinda calmed down & they were OK. We were gonna cut our trip short, but then we were told that they had closed down all the Freeways so we would have been stranded anyway.
So, that evening it was mine & my husbands turn to cook dinner. We had gotten some stuffed chickens. They were DELICIOUS!!! One with dirty rice the other with cornbread dressing and we cooked veggies as well. Who said you had to have hotdogs & hamburgers while camping!
It finally cleared up & we went on for a walk. Absolutely BEAUTIFUL!! That night we were able to see stars in the sky what a breat takin adventure I had this past weekend!!
I just thank God for all HE is done & is doing in my life!!

OH MY! OH MY!! I have failed this blog!!

I have been unbelievably busy! Doing what you ask? Absolutely nothing! I can't ever get on, due to my husband always been on the home computer & being busy at work, just can't ever find the time to post.
Allot has really been going on. My son broke his foot. He has been playing football for 5yrs, he goes to school & starts playing football he turns the wrong way & snap he brakes his growth-plate. Not good, but the Dr. says he should heal properly & should be able to continue t play!!
My oldest daughter is diving my crazy wanting to date & wanting to go everywhere with her best friend. (BOY!! I remember those days!) She thinks we have all the money in he world! What is with teenagers?
My middle daughter's (supposedly) friends keep spreading friends about themselves! That they are pregnant!! WHAT THE HECK??? Who does that?? We are talking about 7th graders 12-13 year old wanting to have babies. My daughter has dropped those friends on her own!! GOOD FOR HER!! I was very proud of her for doing that!! Stepping up for what she believes in!!
I know the Lord is working in my life in mysterious ways!!

Well, well, well...

I am finding it really tough to stick to ALL my resolutions I set for myself. So, seeing I have so many I am going to try to do one at a time and go from there.
Lets see, I started going back to church on the 4th of Jan. I am trying to live my life as the Lord would want me to. Yes, I have gone back to church, but I'm not reading the Bible everyday. So in order for me to take this seriously & so the Lord knows I mean business I will do this at lunch & tonight. I am going to step up for my family & sit them down & be a leader in this for them. I am also going for a walk before dinner. So, I hope I can start doing this everynight! I have so many, how do you just go & pick the most important? ALL of them are important to me, but I figure if I get right with God then He can help me with the rest of them!

January Already!! OH MY!!!

I have been so bad about keeping up with this blog. So, I set resolutions for myself.

1. Get right with God~how do I know if I am on the right path? I just trust Him & He will point me in the correct direction. Getting myself & family back into Church~ I kinda have put this in the same catagory, since it pretaines to the same thing (kinda).

2. Being a better mom~I cherish my kidos that God has giving us! I don't want to be nothing like my ex-step mom & I see myself going down that same path. (Doing the things she used to do to me, I am doing to my own children especially my oldest)

3. Loose weight~I am trying so hard to stick to this one because I want to be around for a long time for my children. My Aunt passed away due to poor health. I find myself going down that same path. Eating things late at night no longer!

4. 365 Project~I want to start a 365 project with my kids this weekend! Maybe I'll start it tonight! NO MORE EXCUSSES!!! They are growing up way to fast & I want to start capturing that!

5. Notes & Cards~Sending out B-Day cards & any type of note! I have so many friends & family I need to start doing this! It's just not right how I have been treating people & I need to start doing better by telling people I cherish them!

6. Debtfree~This one will take tons of work & help with the Good Lord! I will be depending on Him to help us get through this!

I think that is it for now, but if I think of more I will update my list. I just don't want to overwhelm myself. These are the things that are mosst important to me.

I pray for guideance from the Lord above to help me keep each & everyone of these! I have lost a lot of people in my life that has made me look at my life & how I was leading down the wrong path & taking my children down with me.

So, tonight I will be sitting down with the kids & having them writing out their thank you notes to Aunt Bonnie & Uncle Carl. Writing one myself to them appologizing for making them late and so on...

Getting there slowly!

Yesterday, was a very important date for me. I lost my best friend, my mom, my go-to-lady! I called her Aunt Faye. She was the absolute best! She taught me so much! It's hard when you loose someone close to you, but how would you feel if the Dr. just said well it's your time, instead of letting God take you? That's what kinda happened with her. She had been sick for a while. About 2 yrs ago, she had to go on dialysis & that's when it started. Then last Oct. the Dr. talked us into putting her on a trek. Worst, mistake you ever done. When she was at the last hospital the Dr. told us there are no hospitals in the state of Texas that will take a patient that is on both, dialysis & a trek. (Well, there is one in San Antonio, but they didn't have a bed for her.) The nearest one was in Ohio or Nevada. She didn't want to leave Texas or her family. You see, she wasn't married all she had was my Dad & my family. Her one biggest fear in life was to die alone.
The Dr. flat out told her that her Medicare had ran out & Aflac wasn't going to pay any longer. How do you become a Dr. & to be able to tell a family that they are giving up on your loved one & that they are pulling the plug on them unless you pay them $1,000+ a day to keep them alive.
Well, so we had to move her that one last time. She was only on the trek & Hospis had stepped in. They told us that with her medical problems & being only on a trek that she should just go to sleep & not wake up in about 4-5 days. Well, she proved everyone wrong she lived 12 days without dialysis.
At the time my husband had switched jobs (which I was happy about). So he was in the middle of getting all his training done. They had to send him up to Dallas. He was gone for a week. I believe with all my heart, that God allowed her to stay to make sure I would be OK when she passed. He made it home just in time to say his good-by's to her. (He got home Sat. she passed on Sun.)
I thought I was going to be a basket case yesterday, but I wasn't. I was OK! Even though it was nasty outside I was in good spirits & I am looking forward to Christmas. Even though we don't have much I know God will provide for us. I know we will be able to get the kids something for Christmas.
Dear Lord,
Please be with me as I grow to know you once more. I believe through You all things ARE possible!! I believe You will provide for my family & I. Aman

How do I get there from here?

I have been putting this off for sometime now. I'm not real sure why though.
My question to myself is "How do I get there from here?" You may be wondering what I mean by that, and it's simple. You see i got saved at a young age & now I look back on my life & I'm not to happy with the way I have been living. (Not very Christian). So, how do I pick up the pieces & start living the life the Lord want me to live? How do I go about & tell the world about Jesus's unconditional love for each of us? I'm not a very strong Christian, but I want to learn how I can become one. I love listening to Liz Jordan she is such an inspiration to me. She loves the Lord & you can tell by the way she talks about Him. I need to be more like her & I'm not sure how to get there. I have been away from the Lord for so long. Will He accept me again? Will He love me again? Will I feel His presence? Will He show me the way once again?
I know all the answers to my questions is "Yes He will!" But, I just need to learn how to pick up the pieces & not only teach myself but to help my children with this as well. I have had a great deal of loss this past year. I lost my Aunt last Dec. & she was a great influence in my life. Then i lost my Grandma this past June & she was the most Godly person I ever knew. That's who I want to be more like. I want to live my life more like she did. She loved the Lord so much, she would tell complete strangers about Him. That's what I loved about her.
My first step in my process of turning my life around has started. When my husband left for work this morning, normally I would go back to bed. But, this morning I didn't! (I'm very proud of myself!) Instead I got my Bible & read. I have a Daily Bible Reading in the front of my Bible it tells you what you should that day. Today i read Hosea 14 & I went ahead and read mark 16.
I feel pretty good on what I read. Now if I can just learn to live what I read!!

So, "How do I get there from here?" Answer: One day at a time!!
